The Virtue Of Dhul Hijjah increased more because of falling the Hajj in this most sacred month of the Islamic Calendar. Hajj is one of the five pillars in Islam and to perform these millions of Muslims around the world gather in the Kaaba (Mecca) every year in the month of Dhul Hijjah. Every Muslim across the globe should perform Hajj once in their lifetime if they have sufficient wealth.

To know the detailed criteria after which it is mandatory to perform Hajj once in your lifetime, refer Quran and Hadith. In this entire world, there is no one who denies to be a sinner. So, it is important to ask Allah for forgiveness, which is performed through Hajj.

Importance of Hajj

Hajj is very important for Muslims. It must be performed at least once in the lifetime. It is a pilgrimage according to the lunar Islamic Calendar, which is performed from the Day of Arafah. Those who are capable financially and have everything with the grace of Allah, they must perform Hajj. Those who are physically and financially capable of doing Hajj are known as istita’ah. Hajj is one of the Five Pillars Of Islam, which is indisputable.

Hajj In the light of Quran and Hadith

In several verses of Quran, Allah says about the importance of the Hajj and the house of Abraham (A.S.). There is a complete Surah “Hajj” in the Quran.

Among many references about the Hajj in the Holy Quran, concentrate on verse 2:196, which describes about the Hajj in detail- Allah says “And complete the Hajj and the Umrah for Allah. And if you are held back, then (offer) whatever (can be) obtained with ease of the sacrificial animal. And (do) not shave your heads until reaching the sacrificial animal (to) its destination. Then whoever is among you ill or he (has) an ailment of his head, then a ransom of fasting or charity or sacrifice. Then when you are secure Then whoever took advantage of the Umrah followed (by) the Hajj, then (offer) whatever (can be) obtained with ease of the sacrificial animal. Then whoever (can) not find, then a fast (of) three days during (by) the Hajj and seven (days) when you return. This (is) ten (days) in all. That (is) for (the one) whose, (can) not, is his family present (near) Al-Masjid al-Haram. And fear Allah and know that Allah (is) severe (in) retribution.

This one paragraph of the Quran says all about the criteria of the Hajj and their alternative in case you cannot perform the Hajj.
